Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers understand a sport through a clear, well-defined question. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to assess the idea without a full draft.

Ideas we welcome

Pitch accessible explanations of rules, playing roles, tactical choices, match formats or patterns a spectator can notice. A strong idea has a specific reader question, a clear scope and a useful takeaway that does not depend on exclusive access or personal credentials.

What to include

Tell us the working title, the main question, the intended reader and the points you would cover. If the subject concerns a particular sport or competition, identify it. Note any sources you expect to rely on and disclose relevant conflicts or commercial interests.

Before sending

Keep the proposal focused and explain what makes the explanation distinct from a general overview. Do not send confidential material or claim first-hand testing where there has been none. Use the Contact page to submit your pitch; we will consider it for fit, clarity and accuracy.
